Default Preping for KO4....

I have a 98 A4 1.8. If i want to get a decent tune-up, nothing huge, before i put in my KO4, what should it include and about how much should i cost. Ill be installing soon with new software from GIAC and 380cc injectors from USRT.com. I already changed out the plugs and put in a K&N. Thanks

Default Re: Which GIAC file?

I dont understand. The GIAC file for the 380 injectors and the KO4 right? I dont need a serious performance file. I dont want too much stress on the engine. Just the file to allow the KO4 to boost like it can.

By the way, is there any way that my old KO3 files from GIAC ( i got the ecu upgrade only 6 months ago) can be updated to work with the KO4 or do i need entirely new stuff.

And BeeeJ, read my post under suspension and lemme know what you think. Thanks

Default Sorry, i have been away from the computer for a while......

If you just want the regular k04-15 file, then take it to your local GIAC dealer, they will flash it for you. Look to pay around $200.

They use the same ECU, they just plug it in and do some magic real quick and its good to go.

Default Are you referring to the CA install for suspension?

i have no idea if it is easy or not, i heard it is not too bad. i should be doing it though in a couple of weeks : )

i did to my TRE's and it wasnt THAT bad. Fairly easy though, just take your time and make sure you get the right measurments.
