Redline oil opinions?

Redline oil opinions?
Anyone here have any opinions on Redline oil? I know it's a bit more expensive than normal oil, and harder to get, but how about performance? I've been told (by people who swear by it, of course) that it's the best oil you can get, hands down.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Go to Redlines websight, www.redlineoil.com, and see their compairsons.
Keep in mind Mobil 1 "IS FULLY ENDORSED" by Mercedes, Porsche, and several other highly prominent auto manufacturers.
Where as Redline............

Re: Redline oil opinions?
Redline is a very small company compared to Mobil, Valvoline, etc. They do make a superior synthetic however. They use a higher quality basestock than any of the major companies like Mobil 1. It costs more than 3 times as much. The reason that the big companies don't use the same basestock is because they depend on large sales volume. Their product sits on the shelf at Walmart next to the $1.50/qt. oil and at $4.00/qt. they only sell to enthusiasts. If they had to charge $8.00/qt they wouldn't sell nearly enough.
Redline, being small, is happy to have it's own niche as a super premium brand. They sell as much as they can make. It is widely used by racing teams, especially those who are on low budgets and don't have big sponsers like Mobil. If they have to buy their own oil to protect that expensive racing engine, they want the best.
I used it in my 1994 S4 and it served me well. It might have even been overkill since I never raced my S4. That's not to say Mobil 1 won't serve you well; it will. It and Amsoil would be my second choice, but I do feel that Redline is superior to either of those.
