If you are going to go with forged internals, the price difference for 1.8, 1.9 and 2.0 are not a huge difference. Either way your block will have to be machined to match your pistons. The machine shop will have to measure each piston, since there is a small difference in each piston as it is made. If you want to go to a larger displacement it's not going to cost much more.
I stuck with a 1.9L because it has less rod ratio, and should be more stout of a bottom end then a 2.0L. Either way you want to go, the difference is not much in $$. It's really up to you. This is not something you should worry about, you should worry about engine management. Without engine management/tuning for your setup, your nice forged engine will just be a paperweight.
