Second question regarding custom setups.

Second question regarding custom setups.
I have searched the archives and have a pretty good idea of where I want to go with this, but I would like to get any last minute opinions on what people would or wouldn't do differently if they could do it again. I was originally debating the pes t-28 kit, but have since more or less decided with a t03/t04 setup and stand alone engine management.
Advice?

There are people running T3/T4's with the T28 chips.
You might also want to wait and see what the new PES/Matrix turbo kit will be like. It is being worked on by Innovative and should be going to GIAC for final tuning, I just dont know when the tuning will happen for that kit since they have not set a date with GIAC yet. Innovative said it should produce around 350 hp max.

How is that working? no doubt better than the ATP chips?
I watched that god awful T.V. show that showcased that kit and I was quite impressed, the manifold was beautiful. I wish I had a better idea when it was coming out and what the approximate cost was going to be.

With the parts they list it would have to be $5K+
The turbo that was on that car was the first one from Airwerks so it might be a bit of a wait for them to get the supplies going. If you want you can always try calling up Innovative Turbo and asking about it.

My problem is that I'm in Canada.
So even a PES kit works out to like 7500 cdn. Apparently none of the distributors here adjust for price drops by PES, or for exchange rate changes. It's cheaper for me in CDN dollars to build up from nothing then it is to go either APR, or PES. A KO4 is just not enough power. It's really frustrating, as neither PES nor APR responds to requests to ship direct, or pricing queries on that kind of a move. I also like the idea of having something unique.
Thanks for all your input thus far.

How much you looking to spend?
The turbo, manifold, piping, T28 chip, injectors, etc, cost me about $2800, about $3400 if you factor in the FMIC.
Thats with me doing all the fabrication/welding.

Doing a custom setup from scratch is going to cost you much more then
buying a tuned kit. It might look like it will cost less at first till you start adding up all the parts and money spent tuning the car.
