Default So is there a concensus for a stage3 clutch for the A4?

honestly, the feeling I have is that everyone at one time or another has had a problem with every make of clutch.
so now that the dust has settled and cases have been resolved, who would you recommend if you had to get a stage 3 clutch today?

regards,
Liam

Default My SPEC gave my some problems at first, but now it's fine.

Honestly, as you know, any which way you go there could be an issue. The SPEC stage III is strong.

Default I had no problems with my South Bend clutch aside from the fact that I killed it

in about 1 year/15,000 miles. But I will admit, I used to hardcore launch it (4-5K) all the time. I am calmer on it now, but I still like the occasional hard launch (atleast 5 times a week)

but eddie is out of southbend last I checked... but they make a decent A4 clutch.

there are some pics of mine in my fotki account, both new and after I killed it. I replaced it with the same.

Default Forget about the BS "stages". What do you want it to do?

If you want a ***** out race clutch, there are several options. It's the so-called "streetable, trackable" setups that everyone is having problems with.

Default what's the difference anyway?

going to be "too rough" on the street? I can live with that.
I want it to hold the power during launches, and at the track.
all the rest of the driving is only to get to and back from the track.

suggestions?

Default I think mine falls into race catagory

I have the Southebend DXD-HD and it is basically an on/off switch. It is very hard to moddulate on the street, but it is awesoem on the track. The pedal is straight up obnoxious, my mom could not compleatly depress it.

Default Well I am running a full race clutch

4800 lbs dual diaphram, 6 puck sprung disk and 15 lbs flywheel. I have no problems driving it in traffic and it holds when I launch it at 7k rpms at WOT.
