Default But tell us how you really feel !! =)

You're right of course. TOO MANY WHINERS. Probably why Audi chose NOT to do another 225HP version for the '02 1.8TQM!!

Default No one's whining

What the h*ll, can't ask a question on this site w/o getting flamed to death and back?

Of course driving the car hard can shorten the life. Of course you get less gas milage if you floor it all the time. Track driving wears out brake pads and tires, etc etc faster.

DUH!!!!!

Some things you can figure out yourself (gas milage, tire wear, etc). Sometimes folks just want some more info.

What the heck is this forum for if not to help folks by providing information where possible.

"get a life" comes to mind.

thanks for nothing folks. - ok, sorry. some folks are actually nice and try to help - you know who you are.

Default Great post, but I have a question

First off let me say that it is an excellent post. All too often people think that they can get something for nothing. "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch". But for me, its worth taking the risk.
But I digress. My question is this. I was under the impression that Audi de-tuned the 1.8t engine so that it wouldn't compete against the 2.8. Is this correct? If it is correct, does chipping the engine really put it under excess stress? Wouldn't chipping the engine just bring the operating specs up to where they should be?
Anyway, just a question for thought. Any answers?

Default Re: Great post, but I have a question

I know what you are getting at, but take stress to it definition, If you drive all day at 2000 rpm vs someone driving 4000 rpm all day, which engine will most likely last longer??
Wether something is detuned or "Normal" would at the end of day make no difference, what will is how do you drive the car...
But your Point of "Excess Stress" is a different point all together and this is debatable and we may argue that all day.
You first have to find out what the actual stress level is??

Settle down.
You can ask questions, all the questions you want.
You are not the only one asking a questions.
You are not the only one thats gets offended.
You are not the only one that may make silly statement. I Have done a few of those to. HeeHee.
You not the only one thats sends email to me.
I have seens many posts here on audiworld where things get out of hand and crap fights start.
Especially get anoyed when people have a go at someone "like what would you know" and "You stuffed this up" or "Brand X is the best" when they probably do not even know where the oil stick is in their own car.
This is not ment to be dig at you, this is a General statement ment for all those that wish to bag some one.
Not just a reaction from comments to me, but other comments i have read directed to other people, especially when they do not know the facts.
What also amazes me is people who go on how great something is with out out either doing or having it.

So ask all the questions you want and you will get Good answers, smart answers, stupid answers and also ignorant answers.
