Default Stage III Passat - 2nd gear TOAST!

Would not stay in second gear. Suspected a broken syc ring but it actually turned out to be the operating sleeve. $132 for the synchro and operating sleeve. $27 for Redline MTL and about six hours of my time. Tranny is easier to work with than the transverse VW tranny. So for those of you that break something if you are not afraid of opening that sucker up it might be cheap to fix!

Default Nice..... I'm feeling that second gear crunch more and more..

I don't know what it is.. But my plan was to just get another tranny.. Instead of fixing it. But it's good to know sometimes it can be something cheap to fix....

Default Hahah...would running the 1/4 fall under that description? :-)

I made a few passes in Gjaime's car and shifting to second was a b*tch....compared to mine.

Default Yup.... it's actually a little better now... since the tranny fluid change..

but not a whole lot better

You just have to feel for her to want to slip into 2nd
