Surging @ wide open throttle below 3000 rpm's......Can you help?
I'm having boost surging only below 3000 rpm's. Once I hit 3grand everything is normal. I've ruled out vacum leaks, mass air sensor, and I have updated my ecu from apr. If I put my spare ecu in which has neuspeed programming it runs fine and no surging. Got any ideas???? Thanks

Usually a sign of too much boost in the winter
Happened to my GIAC chipped Passat too. GIAC gave me a "no-surge" chip which runs slightly less boost in that rpm band. It got rid of the the surging and car was faster and smoother too.
I doubt it has anything to do with the BPV. If it's sticking it'll only show symptoms at the transition of closing/opening. Once it's closed under boost it shouldn't fluctuate anymore.

I'm beginning to think your right. I have a spare ecu with..(more)
neuspeed programming and it will only give a max of 10psi, and the full ten dosent come until 4000rpm's. Anyway this chip runs fine, and there is no surging anywhere. The apr will give me 17psi almost anywhere in the rpm range. By the way, what does winter have to do with it?

anyone notice (dbw xchip) that slightly less than full throttle is faster? is this a bad adjustment?
