Default Test pipe

I just blew my cat and I am thinking of just replacing it with a test pipe. Will it throw a CEL on a non dbw? Also if I have fault code erase on my APR chip will that turn out the light if it comes on? Is it worth having a check engine light come on all the time if it does. Sorry for so many questions. Thanks Adam

Default No, on systems with 1 O2-sensors -> no CEL

just make sure to make a plug for the O2-sensor.
You still need it
of course...

With just a chip I believe it does. Stage 3 NDBWs don't throw codes often with test pipes.

Default Im running no cat on my nDBW! No codes, no problems! no smell! (but probably wont pass insp!)

Easiest way is to just punch out the insides of the old cat if its broken anyway.
On the control they might give a f.. that emissions are a tad to high when they visually see that the cat is there... (without knowing its "empty")

Default You only have 1 O2 sensor? Last time I checked, I had two on my nDBW....you're not in the US though?

If he has 2 O2 sensors, he'll likely get a CEL...without a simulator or tricking the second sensor.

Default Thats right! I'm in europe. and I have 1 o2-sensor. Might be two on yours then?

If you have two, it will trow a CEL.
Probably get a faultcode about catalytic converter efficiency too low or something...

That suck.
o2-simulators can be bought thoug, to keep the second sensor "happy"...
