Is there any consensus on the "best" strut tower bar?
Who makes it, how much does it cost, does it fit (with no clearance problems), etc.? Thanks for any/all input!

Is this for an A4?
We have double firewalls, so it's already quite stiff supposedly. Still, can't hurt, right? I noticed a big difference adding a rear upper strut bar in my Integra GSR. It already came with a front upper strut bar to begin with...
I have Neuspeed stuff in my GSR (front/rear upper strut, rear lower strut, 19 mm rear sway bar) and am very happy with it. Perhaps they have an Audi application?

Had same bar in my 96 GS-R...
...it really was better than the stock piece.
However in the A4 this bar is really unnecesary. Our GS-Rs, being front wheel drive/transverse engine bolted into basically a glorified Civic unibody had a lot more chasis flex to deal with.
Remember here the engine mounts are roughly on the same sheet metal as the strut towers.
With the A4 there is more, how to put it, "unibody" integrity in the engine compartment. The car is also infinately stiffer, overall.
I've driven the A4 about as hard as the GS-R on the street and track and think the strut tower bar is unnecessary on the A4. Put the money into some nicer sway bars and some coilovers.
Cheers,
Michael

I agree...
...and a sway bar is on the list as well. However, the strut bar is relatively cheap and they do come on S4's, so there must be some use to them! I have heard (no real confirmation) that you will notice a difference the strut bar makes with coilovers, which I do have.
I do know a strut bar made a huge difference in my 89 240SX - but that car wasn't near as tight as the A4.
Thanks for the info!
