Default Thoughts on using a 996TT intercooler on an A4 1.8t? 50% cross sectional improvement...

and over 100% increase in total volume.

Here are the specs:

996TT IC:
14.5 X 8.25 X 3
Cross sectional area = 24.75
Volume = 359

Stock A4:
10 X 6.75 x 2.5
Cross sectional area = 16.88
Volume = 168.8

Comments?

Default What about tube size and count?

It does make a difference too. I've got this cool IC Design program somewhere that will show temp drops, flow, and hp change by switching IC's. I'll have to see if I can dig it up.

Plastic or metal endtanks?

What about the RS4 IC? Anyone have the specs on that?

Default Not sure about tube size or count. RS4 is 9.25 X 8 X 2.5

Unfortunately the 996TT has plastic endtanks.

John are you going to Blackhawk this weekend? f so can you bring me a copy of that program? If not can you either mailit to me or burn it and physically mail it to me?

Default No Blackhawk for me.....

Too much going on.

I don't remember how big the file is, but I can at least throw it on my webserver, and give you a link to it.
