Timing Belt Problem

Timing Belt Problem
I was working on my car last weekend and noticed that my timing belt is not lined up correctly. Here's the problem. With the #1 Cylinder at Top Dead Center the camshaft(top) lines up with the mark on the engine, but the crankshaft(bottom) mark is advanced about 2 teeth from the mark on the engine cover. The car starts an has been running fine. I also have the new timing belt kit installed. So my question is should I try and fix it or leave it alone. If I fix it do I rotate the crankshaft back counter-clockwise, or try and line up the crankshaft with the mark and rotate the camshaft forward clockwise.

Re: Timing Belt Problem
Starts, runs fine, has been for a while? No dtc's? I say don't fix it if it isn't broken.
If your timing belt was 2 teeth off, your engine would run like such crap, if it even started. Also, there would be cam/crank position sensor dtc's in the ECU, along with obvious misfire codes too.
You might want a second opinion. Also, there's a hole in the bell housing you can look into, to see the crank position line up. Maybe your crank pulley is incorrectly installed? Or there's a mark on it that looks like the timing mark, and you had it 180 degrees out?
