What does white buildup on the back of exhaust valves signify?
I took these pics when I did my turbo swap and just remembered so what causes this? I was running rich for a while so I'm assuming that is the cause. TIA

I have yet to see a similar pic that didnt have white valves. I even saw an S4 head pic yesterday that had white valves. see my reply on vortex for car specific info.

just about every engine ive taken apart has looked like that, or similar.
might be running slightly rich? not sure though. but running a lil rich is better than a lil lean, saftey wise anyway. My 400 hp chevy 350 looked like that, and i was told by a head shop its perfectly normal. so were the ford 5.0s in my boat, a 3.8 in my t-bird, 4.0 in my jeep, and others too.
