Default What kind of brake upgrade do i need to get rid of the braking problem in the rain?

Ok, it's getting really scary. I would have hit a lamp post if i was driving faster. What kind of brake upgrades do i need to get rid of the wet braking problem? rotor? caliper? brake pad? or the whole brake?

I am not planning to spend thousands of dollars on my brake yet, but i need something that works even if i had to sacrifice a few X'mas and boxing day gifts for myself and the not-so-close friends. safety first, rite?

Default You know, something sounds wrong.

Maybe the upgrade is to have the dealer fix things?

Get a good set of "Non dealership" aftermarket pads! The dealer pads are junk!

Default Update from dealer on splash shield (longish)

but if your wheel design has a wide-open (few, large spokes) you will splash the wheel much more. I've consider (not done yet on my A4) a cleanwheel - they are redesigned and supposedly do not have a large negative impact on cooling. But they should keep water off much better...

My TT doesn't seem to have the problem - the caliper is at the front of the wheel and someone suggested that had something to do with it??

YMMV

Tarox G88's are wonderful; depends on the quality of the rotor.

Default Same problem with my Passat...

I'm debating on getting some slotted rotors or waiting for the new A4 to come out which should be my next car. Gotta have Quattro!
