Default Not many people are using a stand alone setup

since the ECU works great on our cars.

Default Do mean a S-100 like this one. This is what I am sponsored by Airwerks/Innovative turbo for

This is being installed in my car and believe me it is not all that easy to fit since it pretty much takes up the whole passenger side of the engine compartment. This is a full on custom job and will be tuned by GIAC as a "one off" using the ECU and a boost controller.

Default thats the one but i was under the assumption that our ecu's cant control such a large turbo...

so whats the deal with that? your using the stock ecu with GIAC programming? If so then keep me updated with results. I dont feel like running an electromotive tec3 or some other system since our stock ones rock!!!! I tired a t3/t4 setup with the audi ecu and GIAC programming wont work on a turbo of such size.

Default Why are you using a boost controller instead of

an external wastegate, N75 and stepper motors?

Default I am using a external waste gate

I plan to run different boost levels on the same chip. For drag racing I will be running 20psi off the line and then more once I reach 2nd gear. I also plan to run a low boost of 1bar on the street.

Default Here is the main problem you will run into.

Injector size is key to a big turbo. There are alot of mods you will have to do just to run more then 550cc on the stock ecu. The hard part is that the setup will have to be custom tuned on the spot by the tuner and you wont find anyone to do that for less then $600/hr.

BTW there are plenty of T3/T4's running GIAC programming, all they are doing is running the PES T28 software. Look at Lucas, he is running close to 400 hp while running a GIAC custom chip. Just so you understand how far my car is going to be, I will be running high imp 800cc injectors straight off the ecu. To get 500+ hp you must run no less then 800cc at 3bar.

Default I'd love to see how that plays out, but from what I've seen so far

in the Motronic tuning world, it's better to have boost and fuel matched on a chipset, maintaining all motronic safeguards rather than play with a boost controller.

To oversimplify things, if you program a chip for 20psi, when you turn it down to 14.7psi, all other things being equal, you will be rich.

Hell, for the money you're paying, writing a few chips wouldn't be a bad idea, along with a little IBE from GIAC. :-)
