I hate mechanical gauges. I can get a Greddy for $140. Anything cheaper? I'd also like it to be backlit red... I would have to take the greddy apart and mod it for that to happen. 52 mm = preferred size.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike.

Do you like it?
Can you just skip the turbo timer function, and use only boost? How does it get a boost reading... vacuum line? Could I wire it to key on power, and will it display boost automatically at first without switching modes? Will it complain if I just turn it off?
I like how it has a peak and warning function. I think I might hit it.
Thanks,
Mike.

Yes

Yes, I taped the FPR->IM line

Im not sure what your asking, but it is primarily in boost gauge mode. It only goes into TT mode when the car is shut off.
Will it complain if I just turn it off?
????
I like the guage a lot. I have it nicely hidden in the compartment on the early A4 dash. I dont think that I would want to be looking at digital read-out all the time. Why are you anti the TT function?

I'm anti the TT function partially because I think it may be a pain in the butt to wire up...
and because my car has an afterrun pump that runs for 10 min after I turn the car off. I think a turbo timer may be overkill.
How difficult was it to wire up?
I think I'm going to hit it. I love that warning feature.
By "will it complain if I just turn it off?" I was wondering if it will remember the previous mode it was in if I simply turn it off by turning its power off. I also am wondering if it will automatically turn on once you give it 12v again. Seems like it doesn't matter much though. You answered my questions by telling me that it's primarily in boost mode.
Thanks.

Exactly the topic I wanted to talk about...
OK guys I need some input. I would like to have a digital boost gage, something discreet. Something not too big that would fit somewhere in the dash. I was thinking of removing the cup holder and perhaps finding something that would fit there in its place. Does anyone know of such a device? The Blitz DTT DC2 Turbo timer is the only unit with a digital boost gage and I might be able to do something with that unit but if there was a stand alone boost gage I would prefer that. Also another avenue would be to make a nice custom made face plate with five or six LEDs in a row, lets say three greens, two yellows and one red, red been the max boost light. That way I could know when I was hitting max boost for max launches.
As anyone seen or heard of such a set up?
Thanks

The installation was easy. Forget the tech section, this is what I did...
Wire color on Blitz Harness:
Green, tap blue/black wire from vagcom port
Black and purple, grounded
Red, Post 30
additional wire, tap blue/black wire from fuse 6, run it to x75 with a 5A inline
fuse, remove original fuse.
blue, not used
