Where do you go for a roll cage in Socal?
And is it possible to have both a roll cage and a streetable car at the same time?
I'd like to drive the car at least occasionally on the street. Well, actually I was going to let my daughter use the car to go to school in, about a 10 minute drive.

Where in Socal are you.
I am sure someone out there can make you one, Dynamic Racing Solutions was going to have one made for my car. You can also talk to Big Nipper since he plans on doing a cage for his car too.

Any sort of proper cage
is going to take up some interior real estate.
Unless you want to start cutting into things, it'll tend to get in the way real quick.
Unless you really need it, spend your money on something else.

Time trials and maybe a little auto-x
Looking at your other photo a cage like that would totally make the car unpracticical for the street. I've seen some BMW's at the track with cages and I don't recall anything quite that bad.

Again.
If you are looking for a cage that does something, that's what you get. If you are trying for the "look" of a cage, spend your money elsewhere.
A couple of main hoops, that are out of the way, and don't get braced by side hoops or a diagonal brace aren't going to do a darn thing. It needs to have proper braces, and needs to be anchored correctly. The anchor plates should be around 2 times the diameter of the tubing as well. You can see where they could get rather large.
Sometimes too cheap safety equipment gives you a false sense of security causing you to push just a bit harder. If you push that hard, you want to make sure your safety equipment is up to the task.
I've crashed enough times to say, don't ever go cheap on safety equipment!
In the attached link, you can download the rulebook, or read it online. Look at section 5.5 "Rollover protection". Section 5.5 C1 pretty much spells it out.

ProRally rule book
