Default X-Post: Correct fitment for K&N filter-charger...

I want to buy a performance filter and I've decided on the K&N filter charger. Now all I need is the correct filter number. Some people say it's 33-2125 but I have also heard 33-1675, 33-2550 and 33-2675. So which one is it? I have a 1996 A4 2.8 quattro, but I don't think that matters because I think all A4 air filters are the same size.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Default do you want the cone or the panel filter?

If you want the cone, www.tap1.com sells the filter + adapter together for about $100.

Don't you have any problems with warm air being drawing in?

Default really?

Hmm. I wonder why Audi bothered to put on a snorkel on the stock intake if they could just draw cool air from the engine bay? It isn't like a manufacturer to spend money they don't have to.

Furthermore, it is quite bad fro aerodynamics to ram air into the engine compartment. It's a lot smoother to flow it around the car. Becuae of this they are going to design it so that not too much air goes into the engine compartment, that's for sure.
