Default xenon blue headlights

Today i decided to buy the high watt bulbs for my car(85w) instead of the normal 55w. The guy told me that it might crack that housing where the low beam bulbs are because of the heat. Has anyone had any experience with this or any insight about this subject??

There is a lot of plastic used in these lights now - I would not risk it.

Default Depends on the light enclosure your putting them into..........

My 93 90 lights can handle higher wattage bulbs with no problem. However my 88 90 cannot, because of an internal plastic reflector which gets cooked as well as the connector melts.
Same story on my 86 Coupe.

What car are you putting them into?

Why is this Anti-performance stuff posted here and not the A4 fluff forum?

Default I have a very thick skin, a full collection of military surplus, AND great lawyers

Watching AW go into the toilet for the past 4+ years has been painful. I never thought I would see german rice and now there are whole forums. I must be getting old.

Default The "Xenon" bulbs will decrease the lighting performance of your headlights...

...as the light put on the road will decrease with the use of "Xenon" bulbs. If you want better lighting performance, upgrade to aftermarket Xenon HIDs.
