2021 Q3 Hotspot Login Problem

2021 Q3 Hotspot Login Problem
Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum but not to Audi - but added a ‘21 Q3 last weekend and so far have loved it. However, when I try to join the WiFi, I enter the password and get a pop-up browser that is trying to take me somewhere, followed by an error message:
ERROR OPENING PAGE
Hotspot login cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server.
thrn the window closes and I can’t connect to the hotspot.
anyway encounter this issue before? No idea what to do. Have also been having problems with connecting to CarPlay wirelessly, which may be related to this but not sure.

Quick update: I reset the MMI, went in to myaudiconnect.com, set up an account with my VIN and everything seems to now be working - I can connect to the cars WiFi now via my 6-month free trial.
Question though - does any know whether CarPlay uses the phone’s data connection or the car’s data connection?

I will be watching your results.....
I too am a new Q3 owner and got the can't connect message when I tried to use Siri for Navigation. Just set up MyAudi account and will see if I am eligible for the free trial...Maybe not as I am not the original owner (Porsche offered the free trial on their similar data service when I got my 2 year old Boxster!)
