Default AArgh Inspection/Oil change

So I am a newish Audi owner. I made the mistake of getting an oil change outside of an Audi dealer. My maintenance light was on so I made an appointment for an inspection plus the recall notice service.
When I got there they told me that since I had an oil change somewhere else the dealership would not give me an inspection for another 10,000 miles/1 year! They reused to do one and of course refused to reset my maintenance light. So now I have to view that for another year. I am so angry. I am waiting for a return call at another dealership wondering if they have the same policy. I have a warranty. Any advice?

Thanks

Gina, welcome aboard! I guess they'd be concerned about what was done at the oil change place you used. Were the correct products used? Nobody knows.

You can purchase a VCDS tool (or equivalent) and reset the warning messages yourself. However, an astute buyer may request to review service records and you are not likely to be able to produce.

Thanks for replying. I picked up the car and even though the girl insisted again that they won’t reset the inspection light , the receptionist told me that they did an inspection and the it was reset when I drove off
Sigh

Dont stress too much about this. Think of it as an opportunity to develop a good relationship with some better service/repairshops. Ask another dealer. Ask some local Audi/VW shops. Just say - hey can you assist me with resetting the service message? - some might want to charge you (although its very easy - it does cost a service shop time and money). The customer service oriented shops will do it for free because they want to earn your future business.
