Default Love Our Q3, Loved the One before it

& Mrs wants another one for our next car purchase maybe 2-3 years from now.

I've owned my own cars since the late 1980s & the only vehicle model to date that's been more trouble-free for me other than the Q3s we've owned, is the BMW X2 we also have in our stable, which has had zero anything (even pet-peeve stuff) in a year and & half of owning it.

I make it a point to chat with other Q owners when I run into folks at the gas pump or in parking lots. Not sure I've had another Q-whatever owner express displeasure. Every single make/model can & does have issues & it sucks if you're the one that ends up with one. I was one of the few that had a HORRIBLE Toyota product & experience with Toyota dealers/corporate years ago, I get it.

Happy motoring everyone! Enjoy the ICE platforms while we still can!

The Gen-1 Q3 (2015 to 2018) is one of the most trouble-free VW/Audi vehicles ever built, but you still have the typical 2.0T engine issues.
The Gen-2 Q3 (2019 +) is a more troublesome vehicle, and as much as I love Audis, I would not buy one.

How many miles do you have on your 2020 Q3?
My 2015 Q3 has 96,000 miles on it.

Just went through the same process. Wife absolutely loved her 2018 and almost 100k completely trouble free miles. Traded it in and got 15k for it which for a front wheel drive premium plus was a good deal in my opinion.
We purchased a 23 premium plus and got 3500 off the sticker with the Costco rebate.
My sister in law has a 2020 Q3 with 40k and no issues.
The newer model does seem to have more issues particularly with the sunroof drains and it definitely does not handle as capably as the previous gen but the upside is it has a much more compliant ride. I noticed audi downsized the tire width even with the larger wheels which I am sure contributes to this handling difference and of course with standard Quattro it has a different weight distribution as compared to her 18 model.

In terms of the “haters” I can emphasize with them as I have owned cars with plenty of issues generally they have been American brands. However, a forum is never a good place to make a sole decision on if to buy. Not many people make posts like yours and instead seek to find solutions to troubles or complain about an issue. It’s the same with the other forums
