Winter Tire Set for 2016 Q3 Prestige
I've looked all over the internet, asked my dealer, and the Audi official site to see what size wheels they sell for this model.
What I can't tell are the sizes listed the only sizes that work?
I have a 2016 Audi Q3 Prestige, and have found some used Audi wheels and tires that I'd like to buy for winter tires, but I can't get anyone to confirm.
I currently have the Prestige which came with 255/40 R19.
The winter tires/wheels on Audi's page are 17 x 6.5" alloy wheels, paired with Pirelli™ WINTER 210 SOTTOZERO™ SERIE II AO winter tires measuring 215/60 R17.
The winter tires I'd like to buy are 18x8, 5x112, ET47. Tire size is 245/40R18.
Since the bolt pattern is the same, the tire is smaller than my current but not as small as the ones that Audi sells, I'm hoping they will fit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Graham, have you reviewed a source like Tire Rack for alternate sizes? Have you reviewed the Owner's Manual for the vehicle to see what sizes are acceptable/safe? It's found in the tire inflation pressure section.

Thanks.
I did look it up on tirerack.com the width and diameter are fine, but the offset is ET47 and the highest offset on the site is ET45.
I'm not sure if that means ET47 won't work, or if they just don't sell that size. They range from ET30 - ET45, but there are quite a few ET #s missing so it looks like they don't sell every mm increment.
I've also heard that there are wheel spacers. Does that fix this issue or is that for something else?

The appropriate tire size shown at Tire Rack is 235/50R18 97 V. Not a 245/40/18.

This is exactly why I'm hoping someone here knows the answer.
Every webpage seems to give different info.
The stock wheels that come with my car is 255/40R19 (s-line)
The wheels they recommend for winter tires are 235 on tirerack.
But I can't understand why 245 wouldn't work if it since it's not larger than 255 and not smaller than 235.
On audi's site they sell 17" and 19" for my exact model. I can see not being able to go bigger due to the wheel well, or smaller due to the brake components, but I can't find anything that either confirms that 18" with the same width won't work. if the wheels and tires weren't such a good deal, I wouldn't be spending so much time on this.

Not sure of the specifics on your car. Again, review the Owner's Manual...you'll pick up more info there.
The tires have to meet minimal construction standards, possibly the XL rating, load rating and speed rating. Personally, I'd be looking for more sidewall, rather than less sidewall, unless I lived in an area where the roads were defect-free.
