SOLVED 2010 Q5 Won't Start After Maintenance
We have a backup Audi Q5 we keep at the farm. A while back, it leaked some coolant so it sat parked until time availability came to change the water pump and thermostat. During the changes, the PVC hose and secondary air hose both broke because of being brittle. Today, I put everything back together.
At some time in the process, the neighbor decided to do us a favor and removed the battery and put it in the barn. The battery sat outside the car for several weeks.
Today I reinstalled the battery after replacing the serpentine belt. When inserting the key in the slot, no starter noise happened. All the electronics seem to work and a warning about "parking brake malfunction" registered. Any ideas?

I found the culprit. When the neighbor charged the battery and reinstalled it, he did not reconnect the positive power wire to the starter. There is really no reason to remove that wire, but it was removed.
After reading some information in the forum, I put the car into "ON" position for about twenty minutes. During the time the computer was doing whatever the computer does during that time, I attached the starter positive lead to the battery. After the wait, I placed the key in the ignition, pushed the key fob, and the Q5 immediately started. Now on to the only significant issue left.
