This is absolutely unreal!! I have turbo too, and am pretty concerned now. Even more after someone had mentioned that it happend to A4, which uses same engine...

I think a complete investigation is in order before anybody can speculate.
Cars have caught on fire before by random events, although it's very, very rare.
Glad everybody is ok and I'm sure you'll get a replacement car.
People need to wait before they start making accusations against anybody or anything.
You wouldn't want to be blamed for anything you didn't do, so I'd err on the side of caution.

I really wouldn't worry, there are so many 2.0T's on the road between VW and Audi that if this were a common problem there would be a recall since it is a safety issue. Not to mention you would be seeing lots of posts on this forum...I would just enjoy your car and see what they trace it to.
