Default 2014 Audi Q5 3.0T Actual Highway Fuel Mileage?

Hello all,

I'm thinking about geting a new 2014 Audi Q5 3.0T gasoline engine and was wondering if anyone who owns a Q5 with the same type of engine could tell me what they are actually getting for fuel mileage on the highway. I'm trying to get an idea as to what the actual fuel mileage is vs what Audi says it is. I'm in Canada so if you provide any information if you could tell me where you are that would help in case I need to convert the mileage to imperal gallons/mile (I know, we use litres/100 kms here, but I still like mpg).

I've tried websites like fuelly.com but there isn't much data and nothing for stictly highway miles.

Thanks in advance,

Stephen

Around town I'm getting 16mpg here in Southern Cali, haven't had any long trips yet so not sure what it is on the fwy.

My all-time (7,500 miles) average is just shy of 23mpg. This is about 50-50 mix of urban and highway.

I have seen in the 30's during a long trip where I did not exceed the speed limits, but normally around 28mpg.

Not too empirical, but hope it gives you some idea.

Hwy 2 speeds (~125 kmh) about 9 L/100 km. At about 110-115, it's about 8.5. Around town it's about 10.5.

2013 Q5 3.0T with 19's. We get 29 mpg U.S. at 70 mph. Consistently. That's summer weather.

We figure that we beat the Audi EPA mileage estimates by 2 mpg U.S whether city, combined, or highway.

I'm seeing about 22-23 combined when the weather is warmer. More like 20/21 now that it's colder.

I figure SQ5 is close enough for MPG numbers.

This is great information. Thank you very much. If anybody else has any more information I'd love to hear it.

When most people who calculated their mpg, did they do it manually or via the onboard computer?

There are so many variables it's tough to compare, but maybe this helps...

My 2013 3.0T w/9k miles is generally between 25-27 calculated mpg on the highway, but it's rare that I have >75% highway miles. Most tanks are 60-70% suburban/rural commute with maybe 20% highway and 10% stop & go. I've consistently been in the 22-23mpg range for that mix.

Some things that may matter: I almost always keep the Stop/Start enabled. It was more curiosity when I first got the car, but I've grown so used to it in that 10% stop&go that I just leave it on. It does make a difference, but I doubt it's more than 1mpg for a tank in my normal commute.

I also drive in D a good portion of my drive, but when there's opportunity to do more than follow the car in front of me, it's in Sport or Manual and I can drive quite hard at times. Surprisingly, quick blasts up to speed from stop lights and toll booths don't seem to matter a heck of a lot to overall mpg.

Numerous short, 1-5 mile weekend trips back and forth to kids' football, Home Depot, etc with AC on, running in Sport and using it does make a big difference. One particular tank I was down in the 18mpg range, but haven't been lower than 21 for a tank since then.
