I normally don't care too much about what consumer reports has to say but....I see they released a list of the top 30 car brands in America and Audi is number 1. I may have to change my mind about consumer reports.

This is good news, but was announced about a month ago. The rating is based on multiple criteria for the brand.

Fortunately I don't think the diesel scandal factored in to the ranking.

This is true, although CR did make note of the diesel issue is pending. I also love my TDI. I look forward to the settlement of the issue which will probably result in a wad of cash in lieu of diminished value and punitive damage coming our way. I hope to purchase a nice long-term extended warranty and get full value of my TDI investment.

Here is the quote from CR on the diesel scandal their ratings:

"Hence, Audi and Volkswagen diesel vehicles that have been pulled from dealerships—following their recall and stop-sale last year for cheating on EPA emissions tests—are not included in our car brands scoring. Consumer Reports strongly believes that Volkswagen AG, the maker of VW and Audi vehicles, should be held accountable for manipulating emissions testing with its vehicles".

I wish the TDI engines get released soon - I am waiting as my BMW lease is coming up for return....
