Posted this in the A4 section, too. Time to find out just how good the new Austin Audi dealer is...

Thanks Spijun we North Americans needed some good news to go along with our diesel and supplemental heater issues.Given the scope of this I guess it must involve the 2.0L T and hopefully not the 3.0L Tdi ?

I'm not super auto literate, but is there a difference between the water cooler on both?

So there was already a fix to this earlier (to update some software) but now it looks like they will be doing a replacement?

According to the article, the pump will be changed twice... With a newer version of the current part, then a new part after November. That is a lot of cost.

I don't know if I like the idea of them ripping my pump out twice..

So lets see for my 2014 Q5..............

1. My auxiliary electric heater grid could cause a fire - RECALL issued, twice.

2. My Aux cooling pump could cause a fire - RECALL issued, twice.

3. My fuel pump flange could crack and leak fuel, causing a fire - RECALL issued.

What will be next the next fire causing recall?

So, this doesn't affect the 3.0 liter Q5's and SQ5's?

Just the 2.0 liter Q5's?

Anyone noticing a pattern?

—auxiliary heater is unsafe: turn it down with software until forced to fix it properly
—cooler module overheats: turn it down with software until forced to fix it properly
—diesel emissions system fails a lot: turn it down with software until forced to fix it properly
