Turns out it isn't just BMW offering us a discount. I just received a mailing from a local DC area Mercedes dealer offering up to $2,000 towards a new MB for their "Competitor Conquest Program" by trading in my Audi.
I was sold on and ordering a Mercedes SL550?? with the Blue-Tech but they wouldn't sell us the car - lease only ... umm NO THANKS ... Audi owner now.

Do you mean ML550? My co-worker has one of those... he says it is some sort of an experimental models and he has an extremely long lease on it.

yeah the dealership did give us the feeling we would be 'guinea pigs' on that model ownership being it was so new... so now still glad we went the Audi route.
