Default Q5 AC blowing warm then cold then warm

My issue is that it works sometimes and not others. I get the idea about having it hooked up to a computer and looked at - I've just read past horror stories of 3-4 trips to get this issue looked at and if it's not actively happening then the dealer says they can't do anything

I was going to replace the condenser fan but think that makes no sense if I can get a computer read out - hopefully

With an intermittent issue, every dealer is able to accommodate the customer and arrange to have the car dropped off for 2-3 days, during which time someone from the shop will take it home every night, and take it out for lunch runs, etc. in order to have the car started and restarted multiple times "hot" and "cold" hoping the fault shows up.

They can either give you a loaner car for that time, or put up a cot in the coffee shop, your choice.

Randomly throwing money at parts, without knowing what the real problem is, can wind up taking even longer and costing way more. Half the solution is finding out who the most qualified shop in your area is, because they are sadly not all the same.
