My wife complained about the factory rear cargo mat because all groceries were sliding all over the back. I asked the dealer if I could exchange the mat for a factory carpet mat and they did it no problem.
Now her groceries stay put with the blocks that come with it. I recommend anyone picking up a new Q5 to ask the dealer to switch the mat before picking up the car. You won't be disappointed.

If I had the carpeted 'mat' to prevent my groceries from slipping around then when my dogs got in their fur would coat the carpeting! It's painful enough what gets on the seat backs to clean with a lint roller or duck tape hopeless trying with a vacuum.
The plastic/rubber cargo mat comes out easily & can be cleaned up with a quick blast of the hose (in the summer when i'm cleaning the rest of the Q) from hair, dirt, and residue when I buy plants or bags of mulch or what-not for the landscaping/gardens in the spring/summer.

Hi dear nice to read your topic and i want to say that carpet's is better than mats because mat's become felt dirty and it's get black spot's and stains on it after just sometime but carpet is run for long time and increase your house greatness and other place where ever you want to use it......

Yup agreed. The cargo net did not come with the allroad. I bought a used one ($30/-) from e-bay ie It was a pawn shop seller with a cargo net from A4 avant. It fits well and does the job of gripping the items. The only 'add-ons' I had to get from the local hardware store were two swivel hooks for the top left and right connection as the length of the crossbar was shorter than the width of my trunk. Check it out...
