Default Dent Repair Cost

Someone hit the rear passenger wheel well/door of my 2013 Q5 while it was parked in a parking garage. Unfortunately, no info left, so I'm wondering what I should expect to pay for a fix? There are scratches as well as the dent. My deductible is high on insurance and so I will likely be fronting the majority of the cost.

Look up your local Paintless Dent Removal place. Much cheaper than body/paint work. You will retain the original paint with PDR and it is usually completed in a few hours. A good PDR guy will make it look almost like new.

Yikes, thats a huge dent, I was expecting a good door ding.

I also have had good luck with dent specialists.

Just be sure to ask them if they plan to drill holes into the door to gain access and repair the dents. You may not have a choice but at least you'll know a head of time they'll be making a hole.

Is your hit and run deductible the same? On my policy, it’s quite a bit lower. Might be worth calling your agent to inquiry upon, otherwise review your policy. Someone hit me in a garage a few years back, but fortunately some Good Samaritan saw it and left a note. The person was found, via an investigation and issued a citation and had to pay for my repairs otherwise I would have had to use my hit and run deductible. Hope it works out for you.

Conventional body repair for any one panel can easily be $500-700. One of the "pdr" guys may be able to do that for $150-250, and some of them come to you at no extra charge--they don't pay office rent that way. Expect they'll drill a discrete 3/8" hole to access the back of that panel, and they'll put a neat plastic cap in it afterwards. Then if all you have left is the scratches...some compound and touch-up paint may be enough, considering the price difference.

There are youtubes that show you what will be done. (I still think it must be magic.)

I live in PA, we had a very rare large sized hail storm a few years ago. All the PDR guys from neighboring states came here to repair hail dents, they stayed a month or two. I watch a guy from Arkansas remove over 100 dents from a never sold Lexus, looked perfect when he was done. I was definitely impressed. I have seen extremely good PDR work and very bad also. You got to ask the car dealers who they recommend to get a good job done.

The dealer may prefer to say "just drop it off tuesday" and mark up the job for you, too.(G)
I know a very reputable fellow from a body shop who turned us on to a PDR a couple of years ago. He literally said "Call...he'll be less than a quarter of what I would have to charge."
It turned out that the guy who did my window tint and clear bra, also serviced the dealer weekly. Same man, same service...ooh, lah lah the price difference!
What they say at the ballparks is still true: Can't tell the players without a scorecard!

Look like you have a nicely sized damaged. I had a small dent on my audi A6 and paid 300 to repair it. From what i learned not all dents are same. And so the pricing also varies. My dent was on fender that is made of aluminum, so i had to pay more because apparently aluminum is lot harder to repair. BTW I am in Baltimore area and i used this company https://www.arsdentrepair.com. I am very happy with results and pricing as well. Body shop estimated at over $1000 because of paint blending. I really didn't like to get my brand new audi re-painted. So PDR was the best option for me.
hope it helps

They did nice work! It's especially difficult to use PDR on a crease, so they know their stuff!!!!
