Default Electronic priming noise from shifter area

Has anyone ever heard what appears to be an electronic priming noise coming from the shifter area after they start the car and drive not enough a mile? It's a definitive 5 buzzing noise but it's not a buzzer. Sounds like an eeh, eeh, eeh, eeh, eeh noise and then it goes away.

I was just going to post this last week. It happens every morning I leave for work at the exact same spot. It's a little electric click. I can almost anticipate it happening everyday. Quite annoying and I had no idea what it was. I'm assuming normal?

Pretty annoying on a luxury car IMO.

FWIW, I drive in M 98% of the time.

I've heard it too. Always assumed that it's the hard drive that stores Jukebox media and GPS maps spinning up or accessing some sort of data used to boot the MMI.

Maybe it's that. I dunno though but it does happen in the exact same spot after I pull out of my driveway.

Yes, I've had this for a while on a 2015 Q5, and the dealer heard it too. I even recorded a video. However, they don't know why the sound is there, and since mechanically there is nothing wrong with the car, the techs and I all agreed that it would be best to leave it along and not go "hunting" for a fix. We've learned to live with it, and after a while, we don't even hear it that often these days.

Seems reasonable. If the dealer started to takes things apart then more chances things will start rattling.
