Gas mileage on 3.0?
#11
In discussions about fuel mileage, the 2.0T versus 3.0T comparison will interest me. While I enjoy the 2.0T, I find that I am driving it hard...and in Dynamic mode more often than not...to get the right feel out of it. This obviously seriously affects the mileage with this type of engine. Having the 3.0T with more readily available oomph would, I suspect, reduce my tendency to push it. Would this result in a washout of fuel consumption or even an advantage considering the very modest difference between ratings? Very individual driver-style based question, but I wonder.
You will probably get a better MPG. From the 3.0T in this case.

I drive in Manual a lot. If not, I'm in Sport.
Most of us on here are spirited drivers I imagine
On long trips I'll keep it in Drive. I imagine one I get my APR on next week, it will stay in 93 Oct mode unless I'm on a long trip, then I may drop it back to stock mode purely for the MPG.
I like good MPG, but I also like fun driving. The later i am more concerned with except on long drives (which I make fairly often).
Is the curb weight difference between 2.0, 3.2, & 3.0 a lot different? That would make a difference. The engine alone would make the 3.2 & 3.0 heavier I imagine.
(Likely why the TTS runs the uptuned 2.0).
The great thing about the Q5 is it's ability to have space for items & family, and still have the ability to look and perform more like a sports sedan if we want them to. A hatch is so much better than a trunk to me. The Q5 is the sportiest CUV out there IMO, and for those not wanting quite the CUV size, then the S4 Avant is out there too unfortunately not in the states anymore tho.
