Golf R on order :)
I'm super excited! I just put down a deposit on a Golf R! It will be my "summer fun toy" and my Q5 will remain my long haul and winter vehicle. Now for the long 8 month wait . . . it will be well worth it!
Some specs:
Some specs:
- 2.0T TSI engine producing 256 hp and 258 (!) lbs-ft of torque
- Significantly advanced 4MOTION all wheel drive system
- Option of 6 speed MANUAL transmission only!
- Bigger brakes all around with black R-badged calipers
- Upgraded suspension system
- Stiffened chassis
- Adjustable Electronic Stability Program with "Sport" mode

Good for you. It sounds like a great package. I've been considering an R20 myself, but I haven't been able to convince myself to pull the trigger. There are too many rumors about the next gen GTI and what it might offer. My dealer is expecting his first R delivery early next year. If it doesn't sell before it arrives (which I think is unlikely), I'm on the list to test drive it.

I remember you talking about R some time ago? The old model wasn't available anymore and the new was on works or something like...

With only 5 colors to choose from, I decided to go with red. I have never owned a red car and for something that's as fun and sporty as the Golf R, it seemed like a good choice. (my Ferrari fix, lol!)

It's no "R"...but I like it just the same. If I had an "R" I'd probably get into trouble and get really crappy fuel mileage. Enjoy the wait. The time will just fly by.
Right.

I shouldn't hijack your thread but it seems like a good place to mention that I recently picked up some new wheels as well - a 2010.5 BMW 135i - very nippy indeed but the Q gets better fuel mileage!

That's awesome man, I had two GTIs before my Q5 and I loved both of them. I seriously considered waiting for the R to come out and not buying the Q5 but with 2 kids it was just going to be a little too small. But I'm sure it'll be a blast, congratulations.
