Grille Oppourtunity
#41
Delivery set for Thursday. Should be mounted by the weekend.
One concern I do have is that I never blacked out the trims so I hope the blacked out grill won't cause too much of a contrast. I can possibly black out the trims as did fellow member Maximus did, but would prefer to leave as is.
Will be PMing Maximus if I go with the later.

Alright, so here's the final product:
Down to the nitty gritty...
Here's how it arrived. Had a gash in the side but it turned out not to affect the product. Wrapping was pretty good:
Install was pretty easy. I used the instructions I posted up earlier and didn't run into any problems. And then I went to put everything back together...
There was no damn mount for the Homelink on the new grille.
Old grille:
New grille:
I had to use some tie wraps (metal) to mount it.
I talked to Mark on the phone when I saw the Homelink snafu. He was real helpful but apparently he had no clue about the HomeLink issue. Not too pleased about it but not really sure what other options there are. The package also didn't come with the badge as advertised in the photo. I asked Mark about it when I spoke to him and they were aware of this - said they noticed it as well but didn't state whether they were going to get them or we are out of luck.
Here's the view with the Homelink mounted behind it.

Beautiful!
Mine came as well. It is really top quality. Gorgeous grille.
I was wondering about the home link. I knew it was behind the grille, just wasn't sure where. It seems like your fix did the trick. Does it seem pretty secure?
Looks like painting the impact bar isn't a big deal.
Great write up. I thought the package was wrapped up very professionally.
You're in first with the install!
I just need to decide if I want to run my CF Europlate or not. Mine is white too, so yours gives me a good gauge. Thanks!!

It looks pretty secure - I went and picked up metal zip ties from Lowe's because I didn't want to risk it breaking. I left the bottom one undone so I could slide it easier back and forth if I found the signal wasn't working right. I'll put on the third in a few days when I can tell it works without a problem. I ended up using plasti-dip on the crash bar. It took about five coats because it didn't want to stick at first so I had to do a bunch of light ones.

Thanks. I put the foam back in place after the install - I plasti-dipped the crash bar too. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to see silver at random spots around the foam so I did it to be safe.

Oh yeah, it is Ice Silver. Man, with the way the light's hitting that it looked white, but I see it now.
If we had them side-by-side you'd be able to tell I'm sure.
These grilles are going to make a lot of people really happy.
On a side note, I was zipping down the interstate this morning beside a beautiful red TTRS, and all I could think was, man, I wish I had my grille on!
