either that or OP wanted the car asap off the lot. that's what I did kept the plates drive off the lot same day.

You know that's just an MA thing right? We might be the only state that doesn't issue temporary tags. Welcome to MA, the state of inefficiency, where you have to go to the dealer twice after your car is delivered: once to sign the papers and again after the dealer orders and installs the new plates (unless of course you are trading in a vehicle and you keep your old plates).

Maybe he thought he was getting the TDI version when he ordered the plates and didn't realize the NA version was supercharged petrol

of course. only time you can keep your original plates if you decide to trade in your car. im not sure about other states.

Maybe the owner has a SQ5 and another turbo car so total is 2 turbos. :P
