Default Looking for Checklist Thread

I hate doing this because I could be accused of being lazy. I seem to recall that at one time there was a thread where people contributed several items to be sure to "Check" on when one picks up their new Q5. I looked through the forums and searched quite a bit and I could never find the thread.

If someone can find it could you post a link. Barring that if folks feel like reminding me of some of the items I should check for please post them here. I should be getting mine in this week. I want to go to the dealer armed with a prepared list of things to check on before I sign off on the deal.

Thanks folks!

The following should be included with the vehicle:
1. iPod cable in the glove box
2. In the U.S., most people have received the dog/cargo separator free - ask if you do don't see it
3. Roof rails
4. Valet key and holder in the glove box or received from dealer
5. Carpet floor mats
6. Complete tool kit - one tool was left out and replaced via a TSB
7. Two keys
8. Manual

Also:
1. Verify that your Sirius trial subscription has been activated
2. Check oil level - use MMI interface
3. Check for all ordered accessories
4. Drive the vehicle in the parking lot and check for low speed wheel shudder when turning tightly - some have reported this issue in previous threads
5. Check tire pressure - bring your own gage
6. Verify that the VIN on the vehicle matches the paperwork

Further:
1. Air compressor should be in left rear compartment - needed to blow up foldable spare
2. Foldable spare and toolkit should be under rear floor panel

Default Check the roof rack

If your roof rack is installed, check to make sure the installation torque wrench is in the vehicle (probably stored with the jack)

If the roof rack has never been installed, have dealer either install it or unwrap the package to make sure there is no damage. Mine was put in the cargo area just before I left the dealer, still wrapped. When I decided 5 months later to install the rack for the first time to see how it looked on the Q, I found the plastic parts on one upright were damaged. Dealer ordered a complete replacement under warranty, but you should check it out before taking delivery.

Dealer called me yesterday and said there was a hold up at customs due to missing paperwork. They got it figured out now but it caused a delay so it may be next week before it arrives at the dealer.

I was looking for the exact thread but couldn't find it whatsoever. Thanks for bringing it up and all the responses! I'm picking up my white s-line next week. It's in the dealership right now

You can record the things. Do you think so?
