Default New Wheels & Tires

Just hit 44,444 miles on my Q5.

So in honor of All 4's Day, I got 4 new tires and 4 new wheels.

Tires are Continental DWS06 255/50/R19

Wheels are MRR HR3 19x8.5 ET32

No spacers, no rings (wheels are hubcentric 66.6 CB), and no drop. I wanted a set of wheels that looked good at the factory ride height, because I need the ground clearance, and I think I found them.

Yes slapping on a good set of new tires is usually a pleasant experience. Those look just fine. What was on your Q from the factory ? Mine came with Goodyears which were surprisingly good to me.Swapped on to some Bridgestones about 2 months ago and voila a new car.

It came with Continental CrossContact LX Sport tires, which are made for crossover SUV's. They were super smooth and quiet at first but got really loud and harsh after about 35,000 miles. The tread wasn't all that worn except on the shoulders, but it was the noise and harshness that made me change them. I have had good luck with the DWS tires on two other cars, so I wanted those and had to buy new wheels to get them in a size that would fit my Q5. So far I have taken two long trips over 500 miles and I am very satisfied. The DWS06's are just as smooth as the original DWS tires but the handling is much improved.

My Q5 came with the 19" 8J ET39 sport rims. I would prefer that my Q5 had 18" rims due to better comfortable ride compared to 19" rim e.g. 235 55 R19 vs 235 60 R18 (same diameter).
I am using Wrangle HP All Weather tires M&S pattern because I wanted a good off road tyre with snow capability too. Ten months after almost like new. The photo is just showing the 19" rim y Q5 came with.

I like those wheels! They are my favorite factory wheel for the Q5, partially because they are the ones pictured on the animated Q5 in the "Car" menu settings. I am selling my old 18" wheels but I see you are quite far away. I'm not sure how things are there but here you can find the factory 18's pretty easily.

Yes I agree those are darn good looking wheels for the application.Audi generally does pretty good in this department.Never "over the top" just current and slick.I've got a different design but along the same line, I like them..

Nice. Actually not so easy to find a 18" OEM replacement unless I start searching junk yards.

"unless I start searching junk yards."
And here in the States? Faeries come in the middle of the night, and steal all the Audi parts from junk yards. They're always all gone before the first night ends. Honest.
