So I wonder how much the exclusive colors will be now? The AG colors were $2,500 and that is a huge difference. I must have done this at the right time.

For me, it would be something to where if I hadn't had the option at all then it'd be fine, but having the option, ordering like that, then having the rug pulled out from under you after you were really attached to the color choice would really **** me off. And you might not want to support the company that pulled the rug.

Some people would be fine and it'd be a disappointment but no big deal, but I can totally understand people being mad enough about it to go elsewhere when they basically were lied to. (Again, technically not since the order guide for Exclusive I don't think is out, but when Audi either didn't decide early enough or didn't distribute the information to all regions and dealers, the net effect is similar.)

At $2,500 for a Q5 maybe they weren't getting enough orders for special colors to make it worthwhile to continue to offer the option.

Whatever the reason it sounds like communication could have been better.

Certain cars only look good in certain colors to me. If I end up with the Jeep it will be grey the cayenne will be black and the Range Rover will be white. I think most people buy cars for style more or function. If I was just choosing function there are many cars out there for a lot less that would work as well as the SQ5. This has been a up and down process. I sure hope it all works out.

Totally fair, everyone's motives and tastes are different. I certainly hope everything works out; obviously there's always the option of ordering a flat color and having the car painted after you take possession, but that's even more expensive and more of a hassle.

Hopefully everything works out well one way or another.

I agree with others on here in saying that buying a Jeep over the SQ5 just because you don't like the color is pretty silly. If I were you and had my heart set on a certain color I'd order the SQ5 in Ibis White and get it custom painted for around $5k.

Sorry. There is NO WAY I would take a new car and have it re painted. Talk about resell value. I bet it would take $10k off the price. This has been a up and down process for me. I was all excited when I ordered my SQ5. Then my friends got me down by calling it a station wagon. I have been going to the dealership at night looking at other Q5s and was back on track and really could not wait to get it. I have been googling pictures of SQ5s in my exclusive color that I ordered. Like I said was excited and wanted to call the dealer to find out some info and I get hit with this. I don't understand why some are slamming me for considering the Jeep Range Rover or Cayenne. I think they are all contenders. I am really into style and want something that is exclusive that is in my $60k price range. I wanted the SQ5 to stand out of the crowd by ordering a exclusive color. I will be waiting on the dealer to confirm all of this. But I think most of you have answered my question about the exclusive color. I have owned 13 new cars (I am 36). I have always ordered everyone to the exact specs I wanted. I am a person that won't settle.

I don't think anyone is slamming your other options necessarily... ok maybe a little but what do you expect from an Audi forum? I agree that people can be very different in how they prioritize things and what criteria they use to make such decisions, especially on expensive things such as cars. I do feel that when you refer to a color option or lack thereof as a "deal breaker" to make you change your mind about the SQ5, then there must really have been a hidden reservation you've been keeping about the car. It just tells me that despite your selection of the exclusive color, you still were not 100% sold on it to begin with, that upon discovering any "issue", you were ready to jump ship. Cayenne, Jeep SRT8, all nice cars and I can definitely see how most would cross-shop with an SQ5. Personally, I really like the idea of a new Jeep SRT8 since the 2014 model can be used as very capable tow vehicle (7k+ lbs rating). Cayennes are ok, but unless it's a Turbo or GTS, I wouldn't bother and you might as well be driving a Touareg. But that's me and you should get what floats your boat and not what your friends or anyone here might try to steer you towards.

Now that exclusive color for the SQ5 is a no go, can you at least share with us what this exclusive color was? Just curious
