Q5 B&O issues

Q5 B&O issues
I recently ordered a 2012 Q5 Prestige from a dealer in Chicago. It arrived and only the main dash speaker and the drivers door speakers work. The rest are silent. I would find it hard to believe the others all just went bad and stopped working so I’m assuming electrical issues. Any ideas on where to start? I’m not opposed to taking it to Audi but I’d like to have any idea where to start. A scan tool doesn’t show any faults. Thanks!!

You may want to see if there is power to the non-working speakers. If there is, then as unlikely as it seems I would suspect the speakers. If not try to trace the wiring back to see if more than one non-working speaker is on the same wiring harness. You can also check for power along the harness at various points and eventually narrow down where the problem is, hopefully just an unplugged connector. It's also possible the problem is under the dash or the back side of the radio which you may not want to tackle. In any case it will cost you nothing to do simple troubleshooting and you can always take it to Audi (or an independent audio shop) if that doesn't work.

I am not sure on the Q5, but in my TTRS with the Bose system there was issues with the amps, and corrosion. here is a link to a guy that does repairs on the amps for both Bose and B&O. he tested and repaired my Bose. fast turn around and top notch.
might be worth a phone call or email to them to see if it sounds like a common amp issue. https://paulisoncorpserv.com/product...lifier-repair/

You state that "a scan tool doesn’t show any faults" What scan tool ? Anything short of VCDS is not going to be able to examine the MMI and interfaced modules properly. Some code is likely stored somewhere.

Yes, the "powertrain" limited warranty has that problem. I was thinking more that however they got they car, it might have been warranteed to be 100% in working order, which would include the bum radio. Either way, good luck with it.
