Default not everyone from Europe cares for diesel

I'm from Europe and I don't care for diesel.
First diesel is 35% more expensive than regular. Second very few gas stations even offer diesel in my area.

Although diesel is popular in Europe, majority are company cars (or people who make a lot of miles).

The 2.0 TFSI is pretty frugal as well and faster than the 2.0 TDI (7.6 instead of 9.5 seconds from 0 to 60mph).

Diesel with bluetec are relatively clean but I think Hybrids in terms of emissions are better. More and more people are stuck in slow traffic and Hybrid will have almost 0 emissions in that scenario.

Note that studies in Europe linked diesel rust particles to cancer which prompted the changes we've seen last couple of years in Europe which required more diesel regulations to breakdown the particles.

Not sure if the Q5 hybrid is still coming for 2010 but I'd be happy if Audi would offer the 2.0 TFSI right now.

Default 2.0 TFSI 4000 euros cheaper than 3.2 TFSI...

Just noticed the German pricelist PDF (the 3.2 is not in their configurator yet):

2.0 TFSI Quattro manual 6: 40,200
2.0 TFSI Quattro S tronic: 42,350
3.2 TFSI Quattro S tronic: 46,400

So 4,000 euros less for smaller but at least 10% more fuel efficient engine. Or 6000 if you're ok with manual 6 gear (which definitely I don't see coming for the US market).

Still I hope there will be more engine choices next year.

Default the "you guys pay half what we do" error

the "you guys pay literally half what most of us pay" error!

Indeed it is true that Audi, and most Euro makers, have held US prices low with the (until recently) rising Euro, BUT IIRC, when you see quotes of EU prices alongside US prices, remember that the EU prices contain a substantial VAT. US quotes will never reflect any tax, not even the federal "gas guzzler" levy, where appropriate. Some US states will of course add "sales tax" but you never see that in a US quote. Of course some of us "lucky" US residents get clipped at the source and don't pay sales tax either (Oregon). So, when comparing US vs EU prices, don't get carried away with the difference. It's there, but it's NOT what it looks to be.

Default Agree pricing is similar but you can't get cheaper entry-level engine

Agree it's not 50% and actually very close in pricing if not cheaper if you look at base options you get. Then again I can buy almost any Audi with much cheaper smaller engine choices and much more customization in Europe.

E.g. compare these prices on Audi.de (-19% sales tax at $1.35):

- A5 2.0TFSI (about $37K, -4K)
- A6 2.0TFSI (about $37K, -8K)
- Q5 2.0TFSI. (US price?)

Plus you get much better fuel economy (+20% on average).

Audi cancelled last month the Q5 Hybrid. Can we please have at least the 2.0TFSI engines choices in the US (other than A4)?
