Default Q5 With Paddle Shifters? What Model Year?

Very long time Porsche driver here: the lease is up on my 2016 Cayenne and I have been looking at used Macans but I see a lot of used 2016 Q5s available locally at very attractive prices (I'm in Oklahoma City). Question: do any Q5s come with paddle shifters? Starting with what model year? Or do you have to buy an SQ5 to get them?

I don't want to do a conversion.

Thanks,

--Bob

2009 Q5 2.0T here, came with 7 speed Stronic and paddle shifters, I quite enjoy using them even though they don’t shift that quick. I guess it all depends on what options where ticked at purchase time, I don’t think it’s a MY thing.

Retrofitted my 2009 european Q5 with 3 spoke MFSW with paddle shifts, though I had to change airbag too.

Coding is also needed in order to activate paddle shift.

Thinking about it might have been more interesting if I did the same project with a MFSW paddle shift + airbag from facelift B8.5 Q5 which comes with an extra button .

B9 SW is not compatible as reported

Here in Canada SLines come with paddle shifters.I have them on my 14Tdi and use them all the time. They're very effective. That's with the ZF8 speed transmission.

My wife's 2016 Q5 has paddle shifters. I'd test drive one before you decide. The Porsche crossovers are not just rebadged Audi's.

In Europe we have both. SQ5 comes with 8 speed tiptronic though Q5 comes with 7speed S-tronic. Still the same steering wheel technology for both transmission technologies as a side note (are there no forum Q5 members with S-tronic transmission, uncleigy and me have s-tronic, probably some others too??)

I also have S-tronic, but 95% of forum members are from the market of N.A.
S-tronic only exists in engines with lower torque / power

Do you mean DL501? Isn't it rated for 600Nm?
