So a little new info on my q5 tdi with the buzzken and Malone stage two. fast and fun. now I talked to Paul at PG performance and I'm looking for the turbo upgrades. Really, the car is fast as F&*k already. But why not say this is the king, so lets see if Malone can turn up the heat! (PS, if you have been slaughtered by white Q5 in the lower mainland in BC, I have been holding back.

There are a few Touareg's on TDI Club with the turbo upgrade. I found a few videos on YouTube, but they don't show any numbers.

Default so, I have some numbers

I finally got some dyno numbers.

wasnt sure how to paste it directly, but it shows 440 torque and 258 hp... I was hoping to see something around the 340 hp range and mid 500's TQ as am seeing on MANY youtube videos.

This is with a stage two malone tune and dpf delete. I found the 'numbers' quite low compared to what is advertised. I should have done an 'before' Either way, I had a 7 second vehicle before and a 5.7 second (0-60) vehicle after so, this dyno might be very conservative. Is there anyone out there with their own independent dyno numbers? was looking for a bit of a comparison.

That said, the following code tripped recently

I'm really no expert, but it tripped at 3k RPM's which is a far cry from the 4700 rpm redline. I may be misunderstanding this, but it seems like the EGT torque limiter kicked in far sooner than I though it would. THis would also potentially have reduced the car's performance?

I am considering a larger aftermarket intercooler. I've read they have been known to substantially reduce EGT's which should in theory allow the car to not limit the torque for a longer period of time. Does this make sense to you guys?

good day vicsq5,
if you still have your tdi i was wondering if you have any new numbers for torque and hp? I'm considering the stage II for mine (had the emissions thing done here in pittsburgh and hoping to correct how the engine behaves and add some juice as well) The malone site states 305 bhp490lb-ft but you mentioned much lower results.

thank you kindly
Dave

I'm going to assume that these torque/hp numbers are "at the wheels".Add 15 - 20% for engine output which is the point of reference against stock numbers which are 240 hp. and 428 lb-ft torque. Now if you want to have some real fun get your hands on the current rest of the world 3.0L Tdi twin turbo at 320 hp and 479.4 lb-ft of torque out of the box. That'll scoot and still give you killer fuel mileage !

Thats reasonable I guess.
I was also hoping for some manipulation of the EGR within the tune as I've now taken it in to have the "heavy" carbon build up removed twice now at the dealer in just under a year since having the emissions adaptation done.

Wow flybooey I'm surprised to hear about your "carbon buildup" issues. What kind of driving do you do city vs hwy ?

Honestly its 50/50... and my wife drives the crap out of it.
By the time it needs to be done we have been driving it in SPORT mode consistently as the lag is so bad its dangerous to merge into traffic or intersection turns.
