Q5 TDI throttle fix
Had my '14 Q5 TDI serviced last week...CEL on, Audi service did a PARTICULATE MATTER SENSOR FAULT P24AE00 fix at no charge under warranty. All went according to Hoyle until yesterday when the throttle began to do tricks with jerky hesitations at steady state applications. This am it was more serious, no CEL. I pulled off the side of the road, did the famous 'throttle alignment procedure' and a restart and it all went away and proceded with normal driving. Go figure.

It's magical.😁
It's not supposed to work on models >2012 iirc but I've done it 2x on my '14 TDI Q5 and do it several times a year on our '11 A4 when hesitation problems occur. It fixes the problem. I'll list it is but promise you won't tell anyone because it is highly secretive.😨
here:
Enter the car and close the door. You need to have the key.
1) Insert the key into the ignition if you don't have the hands-free key. Otherwise proceed as normal.
2) Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it there. Do not press the brake pedal because you do not want to start the car.
3) Turn on ignition by pressing/releasing the START button and count 15+ seconds, alittle more is okay as this is not precise. Keep the accelerator floored.
4) After 15 seconds, turn off the ignition by pressing/releasing the START button. Release the accelerator pedal. Don't open the doors. Wait a couple of minutes and then start the engine normally and drive the car about 10 minutes as usual.
5) Done. You should feel a smoother throttle input.
