Default 2020 with 19 inch wheels. Should I go with 235 or will 255’s git

Just got a 2020 in Colombia with 19inch wheels. Mostly doing on road driving but potholes and dirt roads are very common so I rather be safe than sorry. Wondering if falken wildpeaks will fit and which ones to go with. Might the 255’s rub? Or should I play it safe with the 235’s?

Your Q5 is a MKII platform. This forum is for the first generation Q5, i.e., MK1 You should post your question on the forum for the newer model.

Default Steering Knuckle

I lifted mine 2.6" using 40mm lift spacers AND H&R Raising springs, it's still too low because it is a CAR Chassis with a Transaxle in front, 2.5" to 2.6" of lift Kit, my front CV axels are already at 15 deg, which is MAXED OUT, already too steep. Since Q5 is a CAR, 2.5" of lift only brings it up to nearly the stock height of a Q7 or Touareg, and there is no way to do a subframe drop on a Q5 because the front is a Transaxle, not a separate differential like Q7/Touareg/Cayenne.

I ordered 18X8.5 Rims with +12 offset, and will use 25mm wheel adapters giving me a -13 offset, I ordered the same side tires as coloradoq5 but a Highway Tread Firestone Destination LE3 in 265/65R18 OWL. I have the rims, but the tires are backordered. I removed my fender liners because I am going to try and heat & bow the plastic fender liners enough so I have no rubbing at all.

The wrench is 19mm so I had a reference to how close I can get that tire to the Knuckle & adjust the offset in mm accordingly, I'm trying to get the offset as little as possible without rubbing that knuckle.

Is the Q7 steering knuckle taller? Does anyone know if it would fit on a Q5 to allow for
larger tires?

Default H&R Springs and Spaccer lift

Does anyone know if you can run the H&R raising springs on a 2015 Q5 in addition to Spaccer lifts? Thanks!! I’m trying to get our Q5 as high as possible to accommodate some large AT tires.

thanks!

That look is starting to grow on me and very practical for New England winters. I might explore this in the future when I need new shocks.

Default Off-road Diesel Q5 S line

I haven’t figured out a set up running the tire outside the steering knuckle, so here’s where I am at. 245/50/R20 Toyo AT IIIs. 3 Spaccers in front and 4 in back. H&R wheel spacers (15mm front and 20mm rear) help tires in front for under the knuckle (they rubbed the knuckle due to deflection without the front spacer). Track spec adjustable upper control arms from 034. The tire is supposedly about a half an inch taller, but it doesn’t rub anywhere. Road noise is louder but not terrible.

Don't mean to revive a dead post, but what wheel did you end up running? Having a hard time finding low offset wheels at the moment.

Not a dead post, I just added 🙂. The wheels are my factory 20” wheels. The 245/50/R20 fits and is only about .5 inches bigger and fits under the knuckle with the wheel spacers on. It also fits without the spacers but will rub the knuckle in a corner due to tire deflection without the spacers.
