I'm sure it would look great in red or yellow. The painted calipers just give it a nice sporty touch that helps the Q5 stand out from the crowd.

That's why I posted my pics. Monsoon grey with red calipers.

Not sure if I'm understanding your question correctly, but asking the dealer will usually get you a higher quality painting place (if they don't have their own body shop who can do it). However, I'm sure there's cheaper alternatives than the dealer. For me, I don't like problems, so I'm willing to pay a bit more to use the dealer's people.

I went to the dealer today to get my smashed up side mirror fix from yesterday...so sad my brand new car. Anyway I ask the dealer if anyone else they know that does the brake caliper painting, they told me they don't know anybody so I drove to the near by place that does it, they said if I bring them the parts they charge me $250 for the labor. I just want to know how much did u paid for yours? And do u know what kind of paint I should get that has great quality? Where can I get the brembo decals? Thanks

Aren't any of you guys afraid this is a bit "me too"?

I've been seeing red-painted calipers on riced-out Nissans, Kias, and Hyundais being driven by teens.

Oh yea definitely me, but that doesn't matter because I don't own or drive somebody else's car! I repainted mine in original factory silver and am plenty happy.

I paid a lot more than that. The paint was from Porsche, it's the paint they use on the 911 Turbo (I have a Turbo and the color and quality of the job they did on my Q5 is identical to the factory calipers on my 911 Turbo). The logo was custom made by them.

Best of luck!

Brembo or Sline logos you can buy off of ebay.
Just make sure to get high temp vinyl cutouts, and not stickers.

You can paint yourself if you want (many here have). I took mine to a custom car shop (vinyl, tint, wheels, stereos, etc.) They ordered in the high end paint and did them. No problems with chipping, etc.

You also have the option of powder coating for max protection, but the caliper paint seems to be more than adequate.
