Yup, and they're really a LOT easier to paint than you might think. You don't have to sand them to bare metal, the paint easily covers rust, etc. Obviously if you paint over dirt then it won't last, but it's really easy! The second time I painted calipers, I didn't even mask them off it still worked great! I stick with black or silver though. Not a big fan of attracting attention to cheap-looking brake hardware. Now if they're Bremos, that's different! But if they were Brembos, they would already be powder coated anyway.

The 2013 Q5, at least with the 3.0, comes with Brembos in the front. They just don't say it. I painted mine using the G2 brake caliper paint kit ($45). Actually painting was really really easy. The hard part is taping everything off so you don't get paint on it.

2013 are made by Brembo but IMO they're still pretty ugly, cast, unmachined components. Nothing that I would want to attract attention to. Sorry to be so blunt and rude but they look totally unfinished, crude and just not ready for the spotlight.

Which color gray is your Q5? Monsoon or Daytona Gray?

Also do you happen to have the titanium package(Black out package).. If so you can you post a few more of the blacked out portions and how you like it vs the regular version.

I think they look pretty good if done correctly/professionally ... but that's JMO.

Those do indeed look finished, nothing like the photo I saw of a 2013 caliper which had very rough castings. Nice job!

It's Monsoon. I believe they got ride of Daytona for 2013. They did not offer the the Titanium package for 2013 so I had to order the rims separate (achtuning) and used matte black plastidip on the emblems and grill.

See post #9 on this page for my blacked out emblems: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...6-Your-Audi-Q5

At the time of photo I only blacked out the outer part of the grill, since then I have blacked out the whole thing and the fog light portions of lower bumper. I love the look and if I ever get bored with it, I can just peel it right off.

This isn't my car, but this is what inspired me to do it and mine looks identical: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pse64d9777.jpg

Agree w/ the silver or black for my car anyway. The red does look really good, just not for me. Do you have any pics or more info on how you did it, brush, spray, which paint etc? I'd like to paint mine to keep them from getting nasty but was thinking the only way to get them right would be to take them off the car. Really don't feel like doing that so if there's a good way to do it in place that would be great.

Tks

I just painted all four of my calipers over the last two weekends. Took my time. Did three coats and never took my calipers off. Just painted them in place. I'm very happy with the results. Very easy!

The attached photo is a pretty lousy pic but you get the idea. The photo, was taken in a dark garage with my iPad. It's raining out so no sunlight pics.

Here's a pic of the ceramic paint I used. The entire kit costs $20. I went with the kit with a small can of paint and a brush. I didn't want to use spray paint. I just felt i could get better control over the finish with a brush.
