Default required maintenance?

I am considering leasing a new Q5- my only problem is I live 120 miles from closest Audi dealership. How often do I need to go to the dealer during first 3 years?

The maintenance schedule calls for a 5K miles service (free) then every 10K miles or 12 months thereafter, whichever comes first. You don't have to use an Audi dealer to maintain the warrnty so long as an indy shop (or you) performs the scheduled maintenance items and you keep invoices showing the work was done.

Of course, there are advantages to using the Audi dealer for service while under warranty (usually at a higher cost) such as having updates and TSBs performed as well as any covered repairs. Many dealers offer loaners when your car is in for service.

4 times if service will be based on time (10K miles per year or less)... at 6 months, 18 months and 20 months and 32 months.

Only the first visit at 6 months or 5K miles is gratis. You can purchase Audi Care prepaid maintenance which is discounted off the regular price of service.

No. Audi stopped including service in the price of a car several years ago. You can get a maintenance package called Audi Care that will cover the 15/25/35/45K maintenances. Runs about $850 or so and will save about 30-35% over what the dealer would charge (assuming you use an Audi dealer for the services).

Have you considered other brands that have dealerships and service closer to you? It would be much more convenient.

Yeah, that's my first thought, too, Bob. I don't care how good Audi is ... I don't think I would want to make 250 mile round trips when the car needs something.

I'm currently driving a BMW but I'm not happy with the quality/reliability. Besides it's hard to beat the Q5 driving feel
