Does it never go back up on its own, even after you've started driving forward? The mirror doesn't immediately return to normal position once put into drive, the car has to be going a certain speed, then it moves back up, and when put into park, after a bit of time, it will move back to normal position.

Ahhh. That could be it. Makes sense. The X5 used to go up immediately.

Will try that on Monday when I get back.

I had the same exact reaction at first. Then i also noticed that it goes up when I reach a certain speed (no need to go really fast though).

I imagine the sensors should come on automatically. They come on fine when putting in reverse.

I'm not sure about Sirius as that is not available here, but the parking sensors don't come on moving forward. You need to press the parking button on the console (center, below the MMI screen) in order to get it to come on moving forward. Once it is on either by putting in reverse or pressing the button, it stays on until you reach a certain speed (about the same time the mirror tilts back up, although I've never tried to see which one happens first.

Ok. Finally gave her the attention that she needed:

Good wash...followed by two (2) separate coats of Blackfire Wet Diamond (Each coat was left overnight), and just because I wanted more time with her, a top coat of Mothers Carnuba Gold.

Rain-X on the windshield

Then Adams Super VRT on the exterior Trim and Wheels.

Then Armoral Wheel Protectant on the 19s to help with this god awful brake dust.

Next will be the leather conditioner. Phew!

Best part of owning a Q5....I love driving her. Took the long way to work yesterday just to play around with the MMI a little more

Anyways...not as good as the cool woolie pics...but figured I'd post them anyways....
